How Common is Infertility?

According to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) approximately 4.5 million couples experience infertility each year. Less than 2 million of the infertility couples actually seek help from the medical community. While infertility is not an epidemic, it is a common health problem in men and women.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a common problem that affects the hand and wrist. This condition, or syndrome, has become the focus of much attention in the last few years due to suggestions that it may be linked to occupations that require repetitive use of the hands - such as typing.

Herniated or degenerated disc treatment options

After years of providing individuals with information and physician referrals to back specialists, we at Second Opinion feel that finding the best doctor for this condition is the most important step in receiving the best care possible.

Prostate Cancer

Despite the fact that prostate cancer has no definitive set of symptoms,
all of the following have been identified by the National Cancer Institute
as possible indicators of prostate cancer -- and many other clinical problems:

Frequent urination (especially at night)
Inability to urinate
Trouble starting to urinate or trouble holding back urination
Pain during ejaculation
A weak or interrupted urine flow
Pain or a burning feeling during urination
Blood in the semen or in the urine
Frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs.

Donating Blood is a Healthy Habit

We all know giving blood helps others, but did you know donating blood is also a healthy habit for yourself? Before donating blood, everyone must pass a mini-physical and a medical history examination.
